Chardonnay.

Tasting notes

Colour: nice golden yellow.

Nose: citrus and exotic fruits (pineapple) scents carried by an elegant wood.

Palate: the attack is mineral, with exotic aromas (pineapple again). The wine is both ample and tense. The finish is long with a nice persistence of citrus aromas.

Wine and food pairing

Will be perfect paired with cold meats, fine fish and seafood, but also hot starters, white meat in sauce and dry goat cheeses.

Serving temperature

Serve ideally between 12° and 14°C. (54° - 57°F.).

5 years in average.

Origin

The Rully appellation, located on the Côte Chalonnaise, offers wines similar to those of the Côte de Beaune. This ancient 370-hectare vineyard, two-thirds of which is planted with white grapes, stretches across hillsides at an altitude of over 200 metres, with mainly eastern exposure and clay-limestone soils. Rully has 23 Premier Cru climats, with reds from the lower slopes and whites from the higher areas.

The diversity of soils and altitudes (230 to 300 metres) produces varied wines that can rival prestigious crus such as Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault. This geological richness gives Rully wines a beautiful complexity, combining finesse, structure and ageing potential.

Vinification and maturing

Harvested by hand, the grapes are sorted before undergoing pneumatic pressing and cold settling. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for precise temperature control and good homogeneity. The wine is then aged in 228-litre barrels (25% of which are new) on fine lees for 9 months, with occasional stirring until malolactic fermentation, in order to develop complex aromas while preserving the purity of the fruit.

Vintage : 2024

One year follows another and no two are alike. After a generous and fairly mild 2023 vintage, 2024 was long, temperamental and rainy for our vineyard team. Rain was an integral part of their daily routine from autumn 2023 and throughout the vegetative growth of the vines. It took a lot of effort to contain mildew and weeds in the plots. Flowering went slowly but smoothly in the 1st half of June. Until mid-June, temperatures fluctuated between normal and cool, with frost in some areas in April. It was only when summer came around that we were able to enjoy seasonal, even warm, temperatures. In terms of Burgundy as a whole, the Côte Chalonnaise came out on top in terms of both the quantity and quality of the grapes harvested. Even if all these climatic hazards had an impact on the yield, we harvested grapes with very well-balanced ripeness and airy bunches. After meticulous sorting and fine vinification work, we're delighted with the quality of our wines. The whites are well-balanced, fresh and flavoursome. The reds are straightforward, fruity and elegant.
