Production area of Mercurey appellation: 570 ha producing red wines (146 ha of Premiers Crus) and 75 ha producing whites wines (13 ha of Premiers Crus) Plot: 9 hectares, from 3 differents plots located to the north, and west of the village. Age of the vineyards: 45 years. The vineyards are located about 250 meters above the sea level and based on marl and Oxfordian calcareous marl.
The grapes are harvested on a plot of 1.33 ha on the "lieu-dit"called "Les Rochelles", located to the west of Mercurey.
The vines are between 20 and 30 years old and this hillside is exposed south-east.
Vinification and maturing
Nose: subtle yet expressive with aromas of pear and a touch of toast.
Palate: slightly tangy flavours of white-fleshed fruit. The finish is delectable and pleasing, full of freshness and a slight touch of minerality.
Wine and food pairing
This wine goes well with fish in cream sauce, white meats in cream sauce, fine cheeses
Already delicious, this wine can age 5 years.
